Historic Pub Walk

The Historic Pub Walk is a weekly Friday evening experience exclusively for hotel guests, offering an authentic and social introduction to London’s pub heritage. Meeting their host in The Rubens lobby at 4.50pm, guests enjoy a short, easy walking route through Westminster and St James’s, visiting two historic pubs and sampling a half‑pint of cask ale at each stop. Along the way, the host shares stories about the area’s pub culture, political history, and colourful local characters.

The first stop, The Two Chairmen, dates back to the 18th century and is closely tied to Westminster’s political and social past. Guests then continue to The Buckingham Arms, a long‑standing favourite of soldiers, civil servants, and beer enthusiasts, known for its Victorian character and CAMRA recognition. After the final half‑pint, guests return to The Rubens, where they are encouraged to continue their evening with a drink in The Leopard Bar or The New York Bar.
